Nikkey was our onboard photographer as part of a small team of 14 crew members. Beyond photography duties, as a crew member she was required to rotate through the on-board tasks on a rota system, including sailing, cooking, cleaning and citizen science. Nikkey went above and beyond, stepping up to ensure tasks were completed when her watch partner was incapacitated with seasickness for most of the trip. Every task, whether physically or emotionally demanding, was tackled with a positive and bright attitude. She was not fazed by anything that was thrown at her – including freezing cold, long, foggy night watches and complicated science protocols.

A popular member of the team, she was also in charge of the capture, creation and delivery of the social media content for the voyage. We were so impressed with her work and dedication, we offered her a remote Social Media Manager role when the voyage was over. She fulfilled this position to an exceptionally high standard for over a year, only leaving when we started to centralize our operations to an in-person team in London, UK.

Over the past few years I have had the pleasure to work and collaborate with Nikkey, she has a remarkable understanding of my brand, which has allowed us to create stunning visuals that truly resonate with my audience. 

Nikkey's creative eye and passion for nature is shown beautifully through her work and she manages to capture magical moments seen in nature that sometimes are very difficult to capture within a photo.
